Clinical Coding Auditor Educator

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a Clinical Coding Auditor Educator to join the Coding Service. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing audit of clinical documentation, ICD code assignment, and application of coding standards. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the quality and integrity of administrative data collected, resulting in accurate coding, optimisation of Casemix revenue, and comprehensive APC data submissions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide audit of clinical documentation and ICD code assignment
- Apply coding standards to ensure accurate and comprehensive casemix profile
- Share learnings from audits and provide training and education for coding staff
- Conduct regular cycles of random and targeted audits to ensure quality and integrity of administrative data
- Facilitate clinical documentation improvement support for clinicians across NALHN
- Participate in ward rounds, Grand Rounds, Divisional, and other meeting forums to educate clinicians on documentation and Casemix systems
- Satisfactory completion of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) coding Course
- Demonstrated competency in ICD-10-AM coding
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse, and competing priorities
- Resilience within a stressful and complex environment
