The Role

  • Drive operational payroll for key business divisions, ensuring seamless execution and compliance.
  • Lead a team of experienced Payroll Officers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Act as the point of escalation for team members and business leaders, resolving complex payroll issues.
  • Review and validate manual payments and calculations, including terminations, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate final payment run reports, providing insights for business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional payroll leaders and key stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Perform GL reconciliation and upload to the ERP system, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Regularly audit the integration of EA rules in payroll and rostering systems, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Audit Manager, Payroll Process and Systems Manager, and the Head of Payroll to ensure payroll processes are compliant and aligned with industry standards.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need exposure to a fast-paced, weekly timesheet-driven payroll environment. Knowledge of transport or similar EA's is also essential, particularly in areas such as South Australia and Victoria. The team works Monday to Thursday, with a central location close to Wynyard station.
