We are seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our team at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress in the Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychosocial supports to clients referred to Congress' SEWB service, who may be experiencing co-existing challenges associated with general and mental health, family and community violence, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), child protection issues, offending, cultural needs, and other socio-economic and cultural challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based Social Work methodologies, including screening and assessments, case management, advocacy, outreach, supportive counselling, and group work.
- Facilitate access to community services, such as employment and other social opportunities, to support clients in restoring their socio-economic and cultural functioning.
- Work collaboratively with the SEWB team to embed three streams of care: medical, therapeutic, and cultural and social support with intensive case management as required.
- Relevant qualifications and experience in Social Work, preferably in an Aboriginal health context.
- Strong understanding of the social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal people and communities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
