Job Title: Senior Culinary Lead

The role of a Senior Culinary Lead is pivotal in maintaining consistent quality and fostering a motivated kitchen team.

  • This permanent full-time position presents an excellent opportunity for Junior Sous Chefs looking to step up or experienced Senior Sous Chefs seeking stability without the pressure of a Head Chef role.

The successful candidate will take on responsibilities such as:

  • Leading service during busy peak periods with confidence and composure.
  • Collaborating with the Head Chef to deliver quality, consistent menus for family-style dining experiences.
  • Mentoring and motivating junior chefs, providing hands-on guidance to build skill and morale.
  • Managing inventory, supplier orders, and food costings to maintain efficiency and control budgets.
  • Upholding food safety, hygiene, and presentation standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
  • Service Leadership: Leverage expertise to lead service teams during peak periods.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure high-quality menu delivery.
  • Talent Development: Provide guidance and support to junior chefs to enhance their skills and job satisfaction.
  • Inventory Management: Effectively manage inventory, supplier orders, and food costings to optimize efficiency and budget control.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain exceptional standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation throughout the kitchen.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a senior culinary leadership role, such as Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and mentoring abilities to support and develop the kitchen team.
  • Kitchen Systems Knowledge: Sound understanding of stock control, food safety, food costings, and kitchen systems.
  • Organizational Skills: Calm and organized approach to running services during high-volume periods.
