Job Description

NES Fircroft is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst - Budgeting and Reporting to join their team in Perth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the timely reporting of budget/forecast/plan and actual performance results in the company's database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide economic and commercial support to the upstream and renewable business and commercial activities of the Business Unit, leveraging expertise in financial analysis and modeling.
  • Coordinate the budgeting and planning functions within the Business Unit, ensuring seamless integration and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Support special and contractual fiscal analysis to business activities, providing insightful recommendations to drive informed decision-making.
  • Report operating and financial results, inputting and reviewing BMS-Mastro reporting systems for budget, forecasts, and actual processes in compliance with the latest reporting standards (IFRS).
  • Assist with the preparation of Monthly, Quarterly & Annual financial statements and implementation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Compile financials for the quarterly forecasting, 4-year plan, and long-term plan processes, facilitating technical and administrative departments' contributions.
  • Prepare production, operative data, and P&L/BS variance analysis, providing actionable insights to drive business growth.
  • Control costs on budget expenditure, ensuring effective resource allocation and optimization.
  • Assist with the preparation of Current and Deferred Tax Calculations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Planning & Reporting Coordinator in preparing Management Presentations for planning processes (Budget, Forecast, Outlook, Business Plan), providing support in analysis of Contractual or Fiscal matters relevant to the company.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in financial accounting or economics roles, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Chartered Accountant or CPA qualified, with a strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • IFRS knowledge and reporting skills for a large energy organization, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
  • Familiarity with Corporate planning and reporting cycle of an Oil and Gas Company and generation of planning and budgeting deliverables.
  • Knowledge of Petroleum Contracts and Taxation Law, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a willingness to learn new tasks and be flexible with duties.
