Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team at Warakirri Asset Management Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the financial health and strategic decision-making of our dairy operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and issue monthly profit and loss reports for each farm and the consolidated group, including cash flow forecasts and budget variations.
  • Forecasting: Conduct quarterly preparation of full-year forecast operating performance for each farm and the consolidated group.
  • Board Reporting: Assist with board reporting, including cash flow reports, year-to-date performance, and forecast performance.
  • Budgeting: Prepare annual farm budgets, maintain the capital expenditure tracker, and support the CAPEX Committee as a sitting member.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyse work-in-progress (WIP) expenses for accurate period classification and perform financial analysis to identify trends and results.
  • Business Intelligence: Prepare monthly business reports and annual key performance indicators and absorption costing reports for Warakirri Asset Management Ltd.
  • Reporting: Ownership and maintenance of management reports.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster positive working relationships with regional operations managers, farm managers, and head office personnel, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Management Accounting Experience: Proven experience in management accounting, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Qualifications: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related commerce major.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software, Power BI, and Excel, including financial modelling.
  • Data Analysis: Demonstrated use of data control and visualisation tools such as Power Pivot, Power Query, and/or Power BI.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to manipulate large data sets and extract key insights.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in agriculture or manufacturing would be an advantage.
