This position involves repairing, maintaining, and performing general work on fish and bird nets.

The incumbent will assist the Nets Manager and Assistant Manager Nets with tasks related to net maintenance and repair. This includes properly roping and stitching nets according to standard operating procedures (SOP), assisting with splicing tasks as needed, and participating in training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.

In addition, the Net Maintenance professional will be responsible for monitoring and reporting any predator activity, such as seals and birds, in the nets. The successful candidate must adhere to all company policies, procedures, and biosecurity protocols, and ensure that the site is clean, organized, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Roping and Stitching: Properly rope and stitch nets according to SOP.
  • Splicing: Assist with splicing tasks as needed.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training sessions to improve your skills and knowledge.
  • Predator Monitoring: Monitor and report any predator activity, such as seals and birds, in the nets.
  • Adhering to Protocols: Follow all company policies, procedures, and biosecurity protocols.
  • Site Maintenance: Keep the site clean, organized, and well-maintained.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar position within the aquaculture or marine farming industry is desirable but not essential.
  • A valid driver's license or reliable mode of transport is required.
  • The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player who can follow company policies and procedures.
