Job Overview:

The primary objective of this role is to assist the Nets Manager and Assistant Manager Nets in performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and general upkeep on fish and bird nets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Roping and stitching: Ensuring that nets are properly secured and stitched according to standard operating procedures.
  • Splicing: Providing assistance with splicing tasks as needed.
  • Training and development: Participating in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Predator monitoring: Monitoring and reporting any predator activity, such as seals and birds, in the nets.
  • Compliance: Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and biosecurity protocols.
  • Site maintenance: Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-maintained site.
  • Risk assessments: Conducting regular risk assessments and staying informed about Work Health and Safety regulations.

About You:

  • Desirable experience in a similar position within the aquaculture or marine farming industry.
  • A valid driver's license or reliable mode of transportation.
  • The ability to complete tasks accurately and on time with attention to detail.
