Job Title: Antitrust Lawyer

Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished lawyer with experience in antitrust matters to join our team. As a key member of our competition law group, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on all aspects of competition and consumer law to support clients' business success within the bounds of the law.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Advising domestic and international clients on competition issues arising in merger clearances and seeking clearance of domestic, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions from regulatory bodies.
  • Providing strategic advice on competition and consumer law to support clients' business growth and expansion.
  • Litigation/dispute resolution: Representing corporate clients and regulatory agencies in competition and consumer law dispute resolution and litigation.
  • Investigations: Supporting commercial clients or regulatory agencies with investigations into anti-competitive conduct, cartels (including criminal cartels) and contraventions of Australian Consumer Law.
  • Technology and innovation: Advising technology clients on the application of regulatory frameworks in areas such as telecommunications, digital platforms, media law, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
  • Economic regulation: Assisting clients with licensing, network access and price control in regulated industries.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2-5+ years PQE experience gained within a leading law firm or regulator, with predominant exposure to competition and regulatory and/or consumer law matters.
  • Commerciality, curiosity, and an enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong ability to work well in a team.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, analytical, technical and drafting skills.
