About the Role

This position involves overseeing daily operations, supporting and mentoring staff, and helping individuals develop essential life skills in a therapeutic home setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the residential care environment in accordance with established models, legislation, service standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provide direct support and guidance to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Serve as a visible and supportive leader, offering guidance and role modeling for your team.
  • Oversee and implement individualized care plans to promote the wellbeing of residents.
  • Guide your team in applying crisis intervention techniques to support residents.
  • Provide reflective supervision and mentorship to staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.
Requirements
  • A diploma in community services or a related field is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
  • Leadership experience in services supporting children and young people, such as out-of-home care and intensive therapeutic care settings.
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, complex health needs, or behaviors of concern.
  • Willingness to undertake tasks related to personal care.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise a team, embedding therapeutic practices into daily activities.
  • A current first aid certification (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011).
  • A valid driver's license.
