
Community Safety Liaison Officer

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing has introduced a new service model focused on supporting children aged 10-11 years old at risk of engaging in high harm behaviours and entering the justice system.
As a key professional in this initiative, you will collaborate with area-based multi-agency safety planning teams to identify high-risk children in your local area. You will establish partnerships with key organisations and agencies, share information, and develop individual and community safety plans to prevent incidents.
You will report to the Statewide Coordinator, who will oversee the service's eligibility, referral processes, and capacity management.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve service delivery objectives.
- Develop local multi-agency partnerships to share intelligence and plan incident responses for high-risk young people.
- Manage the delivery of key functions integral to the service model, including developing individual safety plans and facilitating referrals.
- Utilise innovative thinking to advance solutions to area-based issues, including facilitating community-based safety planning.
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse data and develop effective safety plans to prevent incidents.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex issues and promote pro-social behaviours.
Eligibility Criteria:
