Senior WHS System Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior WHS System Lead to lead the ongoing development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Work Health and Safety (WHS) Management System.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and continuously improving our WHS Management Systems, developing and implementing policies, systems, and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practice, investigating significant WHS incidents, and contributing to action plans.

About the Role:
  • Manage and continuously improve WHS Management Systems, ensuring they align with legislative requirements and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement WHS policies, systems, and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Investigate and analyze WHS incidents, identifying root causes and contributing factors, and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Deliver comprehensive WHS reporting, trend analysis, and executive papers to inform business decisions.
  • Audit and assess WHS performance, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of WHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of WHS incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on WHS matters, including risk assessments and incident reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate WHS risks and hazards.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in WHS or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in WHS leadership or management.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective WHS systems and processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of harmonised WHS legislation and industry best practices.
