Award-Winning News Journalist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced TV News Journalist to join our team at Nine. As a key member of our news operation, you will be responsible for producing high-quality journalism that informs, educates, and engages our viewers.
Key Responsibilities- Breaking News Coverage: Generate, identify, and react to breaking stories, issues, and trends with smart and engaging ideas, or receive a brief from the Executive Producer.
- Story Development: Collaborate with the EP to script and edit your story, ensuring it meets the highest standards of journalism.
- Interviews and Reporting: Brief interviewees and conduct interviews, delivering articulate and direct addresses to the camera and executing live crosses as necessary.
- Research and Investigation: Monitor socials and local papers for good local stories, and provide innovative ideas for compelling storytelling across television and digital.
- Team Collaboration: Cultivate a strong network of contacts, and work closely with the team to deliver high-quality journalism.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Perform other duties such as radio interviews to promote the news bulletin, and maintain an active presence on social media within NEC policy to promote the news bulletin.
- Proven Experience: Proven experience in Television journalism and breaking stories.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or equivalent.
- Communication Skills: Confident writing style, on-air presence, and ability to package for TV news.
- Relationship Building: Strong relationship and network building skills, with the ability to engage peers, supervisors, and interviewees in active, open, and productive dialogue.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge in producing, with the ability to work well under extra pressure and perform a range of tasks with minimal supervision.
