Job Description

Our Yarning Cultural Facilitator plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of children's literature. This is an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with Indigenous communities and contribute to the development of culturally authentic stories that foster inclusion and literacy across Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with Indigenous communities, providing cultural advising on manuscript texts and illustrations, and working closely with the Our Yarning Coordinator to deliver cultural training to educators. This position requires a deep understanding of cultural protocols and community engagement, as well as excellent communication and facilitation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the production of culturally authentic children's stories to support inclusion and literacy across Australia.
  • Support learning, assessment, and advocacy of Our Yarning.
  • Contribute to the operational processes of the Our Yarning initiative.
