Position Overview
We're seeking an exceptional Financial Operations Manager to cover a maternity leave, with a potential opportunity to transition to a permanent role.
As a Financial Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily financial operations and manage a team of bookkeepers, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers, providing guidance and support to achieve accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies and issues in financial records.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bookkeeping qualification.
- CA or CPA (desirable but not essential).
- Experience managing a team of bookkeepers.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
