Companionship Care Specialist
Job Description:We are seeking a skilled Companionship Care Specialist to provide high-quality care and support services to our residents, promoting their wellbeing, independence, interests and choices.
- Assistance with residence mobility needs, including manual handling.
- Support at mealtimes as required by the resident, such as food and drink preparation and feeding if needed.
- Fostering engagement in various social activities.
- Support with personal care needs, maintaining hygiene, toileting and personal care like dressing, grooming and oral care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
- Assisting with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing and grooming.
- Encouraging social interaction and community involvement.
- Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents.
- Experience in aged care roles is highly regarded.
- Understanding of person-centred care principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions effectively.
