Companionship Care Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Companionship Care Specialist to provide high-quality care and support services to our residents, promoting their wellbeing, independence, interests and choices.

  • Assistance with residence mobility needs, including manual handling.
  • Support at mealtimes as required by the resident, such as food and drink preparation and feeding if needed.
  • Fostering engagement in various social activities.
  • Support with personal care needs, maintaining hygiene, toileting and personal care like dressing, grooming and oral care.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
  2. Assisting with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing and grooming.
  3. Encouraging social interaction and community involvement.
  4. Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in aged care roles is highly regarded.
  • Understanding of person-centred care principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Ability to take direction and follow instructions effectively.
