Exciting Opportunity for a Battlespace Infrastructure Operations Specialist

Raytheon Australia, a trusted capability partner to the Australian Defence Force, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Battlespace Infrastructure Operations Specialist.

About the Role

We are currently experiencing rapid growth and are looking for a bright and energised professional to join our team. As a key member of our organisation, you will contribute to the critical outcomes of the Australian Defence Force by delivering complex, state-of-the-art programs designed to keep Australia safe.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical operations for BSC's complex IT server and communication solutions that comply with Raytheon and Defence technical standards and security policies.

This includes managing system accounts, permissions and directory operations, ensuring service delivery staff have the necessary up-to-date information for account administration activities.

You will also provide technical input into the development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans & Business Continuity Plans for server and communication infrastructure, monitor system performance, manage software installation, configuration and updates for operating systems, firmware, and software applications, perform system and network configuration maintenance, manage backup and recovery protocols, install and manage firewall and intrusion-detection monitoring systems, manage backup system to safeguard critical data collection, and perform advanced troubleshooting and network problem resolution in coordination with maintainers.

Requirements

  • Relevant Certificate IV/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Systems Administration 2nd / 3rd Level support role (UNIX, Linux and Microsoft).
  • Experience in monitoring a complex IT environment.
  • Experience in diagnosing networking fault.
  • Preferably hold a number of relevant industry qualifications such as:DoD approved 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certifications.Microsoft Certified System Associate (MSCA).Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA).Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA).Security (CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security).
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 Security Clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at https://www.ati.gov.au/individuals/clearance-levels.
