About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally aware Aboriginal Health Practitioner or Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, comprehensive primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people living in the Greater Darwin Area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients with compassion and cultural sensitivity.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and treatment outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Nursing and/or Certificate IV in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice).
  • Current registration as an AHP/ Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in providing Primary Health Care, utilising standard treatment manuals.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to plan, manage and prioritise tasks.

Other Requirements
  • Willingness to undergo a Police Check.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
  • Current CPR certificate or the preparedness to gain one within 6 months of commencement.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Full rights to work in Australia.
