Job Description

Overview:

The role of a Mechanical Engineer is to provide technical leadership in the design and delivery of mechanical engineering aspects of water storage dam infrastructure.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions and high-quality projects that meet our clients' needs.

You will work closely with the team to develop sustainable capability and lead the delivery of quality technical solutions and successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in the design of gates, regulating structures, outlet works, valves, fish screens and other mechanical aspects of water storage dam infrastructure.
  • Deliver innovative solutions and high-quality projects for our clients.
  • Mentor and work closely with the rest of the team to develop sustainable capability.
  • Lead and oversee delivery of quality technical solutions and successful project outcomes that satisfy our clients' needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, and experience in the mechanical engineering aspects of water storage dams.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years' experience in a consulting environment, specifically in the design and specification of gates, hoists, outlet works, trash racks and screens, fishways, pipe work, valves and other mechanical equipment associated with dams.
  • Hydropower experience will also be looked on favorably.
  • Experience in risk assessments and dam safety inspections or condition assessments of hydromechanical plant.
