Job Description:

As a seasoned town planner, you will lead complex projects from start to finish, mentoring junior staff and developing strong client relationships. You will be responsible for project management, including development application submissions for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

  • Lead planning projects with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring timely completion and exceeding client expectations.
  • Provide expert advice on feasibility studies, strategic planning, and policy analysis, utilizing your knowledge of the Queensland planning framework and local government schemes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, government authorities, and project stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment that drives project success.
  • Ensure high-quality planning reports and advice, showcasing your expertise in project management and stakeholder engagement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline is essential for this role. Additionally, you should possess:

  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in town planning, preferably in a consultancy environment in Queensland.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing complex development applications and providing strategic planning advice.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Natural leadership qualities, with a passion for mentoring others and driving team success.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach, with a collaborative spirit that fosters innovation and growth.
