Job Description

This role involves working with families who have children with complex disabilities. The aim is to provide support and guidance to enhance parenting capacity and promote family preservation.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality support to families in residential care or at risk of needing care due to complex disability support needs.

The role requires coordinating supports, assisting with accessing NDIS-approved services, building families' capacity to navigate service systems, and fostering collaborative relationships with service providers.

Engagement with the NDIA, staying updated on NDIS changes, and ensuring compliance are also key aspects of this position.

About You
  • A tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience in disability, social sciences, community work, or related fields is essential.
  • Strong task focus and ability to prioritize workflow are necessary skills for this role.
  • The ability to develop and manage relationships with participants and service providers is crucial.
  • Commitment to engaging and empowering people with disabilities and their carers is required.
  • An in-depth understanding of service sectors (disability, community, education, health, etc.) and their interface with individuals with disabilities is vital.

To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong passion for supporting families and individuals with complex needs. A Working with Children Check will be required, as well as an international police check if you have lived outside of Australia for more than 12 months in the last 10 years.
