We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to fill the role of Chief Allied Health Officer. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of healthcare in the ACT.
About the RoleThe Chief Allied Health Officer is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic plans that drive high-quality, safe, and accessible healthcare services throughout the region.
- To foster positive collaborations with various stakeholders to deliver exceptional healthcare outcomes.
- To manage and lead workforce initiatives, including the Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme, Allied Health Symposium, ACT Allied Health Excellence Awards, and the ACT Allied Health Professionals Associations Forum.
- To develop and implement strategies to promote a positive workplace culture and foster a collaborative team environment.
- To work closely with the ACT Public Service to create an inclusive workplace, promoting diversity and encouraging applications from underrepresented groups.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Eligibility/Other Requirements- A tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline and eligibility for membership of the appropriate peak professional body or unconditional Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A postgraduate qualification in a related field is desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary clinical practice and governance, sound understanding of professional standards and guidelines, government processes, system-wide policy and change management.
- Experience delivering effective outcomes in a complex, cross-cultural and politically sensitive environment regarding relevant legislative obligations.
- Proven strong and effective communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
