Job Role Overview

The Trades Assistant will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the infrastructure, including plant and equipment building fabric, and associated systems.

The successful candidate will have a qualified trades background or equivalent experience in a facilities maintenance role, with at least 5 years of experience working in a facilities maintenance environment.

Key responsibilities include ensuring maintenance is completed to a satisfactory standard and in a timely manner, conducting inspections of building services, plant and equipment, and raising work requests as required.

  • Carrying out emergency procedures in line with policy
  • Conducting inspections of building services, plant and equipment, and or building/fixtures
  • Raising work requests as required
  • Closing works orders as required
  • Preparing scopes of work and sourcing quotations for the required task
  • Providing first line response to all urgent requests and breakdowns
  • Being responsible for the completion of permits for risk work as may be required
  • Liaising with the Facilities Administrator to procure sufficient spares/materials and ensuring enough spares/materials are kept in stock to minimise any equipment downtime
  • Conducting audits on plant and equipment as instructed
Requirements

Excellent customer service skills are essential, along with knowledge of Technology One Maintenance System.

Working Conditions

Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with availability to work additional shifts as needed.
