Engineering Leadership Role

The position of Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in spearheading all design and engineering resources associated with the delivery of time-sensitive projects, refurbishment initiatives, and provision of engineering services to a regional organization.

Responsibilities encompass:

  • Ensuring effective project execution and efficient resource allocation for ETO projects
  • Establishing and maintaining suitable engineering governance frameworks for engineering services provided throughout the product lifecycle
  • Ensuring that internal stakeholders' requirements are met as per agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and facilitating the successful delivery of projects and their deliverables
  • Developing and implementing an optimal tender and estimation process within the department and validating its effectiveness through regular monitoring of relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Providing prompt support and guidance to sales teams on technical matters as required

Key qualifications include:

  • Relevant Engineers Australia recognized engineering degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar leadership role
  • Registration on the National Engineering Register (NER), or ability to attain registration within 3 months of commencement in the role
  • Demonstrated expertise in design and engineering related to minerals processing and bulk materials handling equipment
  • Proven ability to lead culturally diverse technical teams, including performance management, coaching, and training to meet business objectives
  • Capacity to understand, interpret, and address complex customer needs by reviewing tender documents, including technical specifications and commercial aspects of deliverables
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills (report writing, business planning, presentations, influencing, conflict resolution, driving change)
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen - contract terms, project budgets, and cost center budgeting in managing and controlling
  • Working knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (preferably SAP)
