Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist

As part of our continued expansion, we are currently seeking to add to our team of skilled tradespeople at a mining site in the Mudgee region. The mine produces high-quality thermal coal for both domestic and international markets.
We operate a fleet of CAT 789, 793, 785 and Terex MT400 trucks, CAT 16M & 14M graders, CAT D10 and D11 dozers and Liebherr 9350, 9400 and CAT 6060 excavators. Our experienced leading hands and supervisors oversee the work of our fitters, ensuring they have all the necessary resources, tools and support to complete their tasks effectively.
Our team is responsible for performing planned and unplanned maintenance on Peabody mining equipment, with roles split between workshop-based and field-based teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintenance, repairs and inspections on mobile machinery to ensure optimal working condition;
- Prioritising and undertaking specified and/or general work to the required standard and within timeframes;
- Collaborating with planning and scheduling teams to increase reliability and availability targets;
- Maintaining a safe, clean and healthy working environment;
- Minimising production downtime;
- Utilising libraries such as SIS;
- Participating in shift changes, site meetings, communications or reporting requirements to the required standard;
- Engaging in our Continuous Improvement Program;
- Complying with site safety and health management system requirements.
This position is available on a rotating panel roster with a mix of days and nights, making it suitable for those living in nearby areas. We also offer a range of benefits, including:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in maintaining and servicing various types of heavy machinery, including excavators, trucks and graders. You must hold a recognised trade certificate and possess excellent diagnostic and repair skills, as well as a commitment to safety and teamwork. Forklift, dogging and working at heights qualifications are desirable but not essential.
