Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Road Transport) Role

We are seeking a trade-qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our dedicated maintenance team. This full-time role is critical to the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of our fleet which includes trucks, floats, trailers, light vehicles, and earthmoving equipment.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across a diverse fleet that supports major infrastructure and civil construction projects. From planned maintenance to urgent breakdowns, your skills will help minimize downtime and ensure we stay on track and on schedule.

  • Maintain and repair trucks, floats, light vehicles, and construction equipment.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and suppliers to maintain fleet efficiency and availability.
  • Support roadworthy inspections and complete service documentation accurately.
  • Undertake both workshop-based and site servicing (field service).
  • Promote WHS compliance and contribute to safety-focused pre-start/toolbox meetings.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years' post-trade experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
  • Background in civil, mining, transport, or agricultural environments is highly regarded.
  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
  • Current Driver's Licence - (HR or HC desirable).
  • White Card.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong fault-finding and repair capability across drivetrains, hydraulics, and suspension.
  • High attention to detail and ownership over quality and safety.
  • Effective communicator and collaborative team member.
  • Physically fit and willing to work flexible hours, including field servicing.
