Senior Geotechnical Engineer

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in geotechnical engineering and experience with mine design software. They will also possess a current C-Class Western Australian Drivers Licence and underground geotechnical experience in a mechanised hard-rock underground mine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of geotechnical engineers to ensure the safe management and delivery of all geotechnical requirements.
  • Develop functional work plans and processes for the geotechnical department, ensuring strategic requirements are met.
  • Conceptualise, initiate, present, and implement specific geotechnical improvement projects for productivity and profitability gains by the mine.
  • Provide geotechnical advice and direction in planned and active underground mining areas, ensuring effective and appropriate ground support systems are in place to support safe mining activities.
  • Work closely with the technical production team to design mine level and stope extraction plans, including evaluating rock stress resulting from the planned extraction sequencing.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Current C-Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Experience with mine design software – Deswik.
  • Underground geotechnical experience in a mechanised hard-rock underground mine.
  • Good communication skills.
