About the Role
The Director of Food and Beverage is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the Food and Beverage department at Hyatt Hotel Canberra. As a member of the hotel's senior management team, this role plays a critical part in delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability, including upselling techniques and promotional events.
- Manage budgets for the outlets, monitoring expenses and maximizing revenue while minimizing costs.
- Collaborate closely with chefs to create and update menus, ensuring variety, quality, and profitability.
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise team members, including food and beverage attendants, hosts, bartenders, and supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as hotel policies and procedures.
Requirements
- University degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management.
- Demonstrated recent experience as a Director of F&B or Assistant Director of F&B in a large property, preferably in a five-star environment.
- Good operational, administrative, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Wine and beverage knowledge in an upscale environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to work with a flexible schedule, and a dynamic leadership style are required.
- A valid and current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate is necessary.
