Job Description

Our team is responsible for ensuring the Australian vehicle fleet is safe and efficient. This involves working to enhance vehicle safety, emissions control, and anti-theft protection.

The Application Assessment and Approval section is responsible for assessing certain applications to ensure they meet the criteria for approval. We provide support to businesses and individuals to help them provide road vehicles to the Australian market.

The Team Leader ROVER Level 1 Support leads a client-focused team that is the first point of contact for industry, businesses, and individuals contacting the department in relation to the Road Vehicle Standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The Team Leader ROVER Level 1 Support officer must have strong leadership skills and be able to:

  • Contribute to planning and monitoring of work processes for the team
  • Identify development and learning opportunities for staff and delegate tasks effectively
  • Foster a cohesive team culture that encourages openness, honesty, and knowledge sharing
  • Consistently demonstrate and encourage team members to demonstrate the appropriate standards of ethical and professional behaviour

  • Responding to information and/or legislative requests, such as Freedom of Information requests
  • Oversight of staffing, performance, and development of staff including daily team management and workload management
