Geotechnical Expert for Project Development

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our project team in Queensland. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from planning and design through to construction and completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead geotechnical aspects of projects, ensuring best practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and deliver geotechnical projects or components, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
  • Plan and supervise site investigations, including borehole drilling, in-situ testing (SPT, CPT, pressuremeter, etc.), sampling, and monitoring.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction assessment, and seismic response.
  • Design foundations (shallow and deep), earth retaining structures, ground improvement solutions, and pavements.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies, design documents, and specifications.
  • Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Nurture client relationships, attend meetings, and provide geotechnical advice and presentations.
  • Mentor and train junior graduate/early career geotechnical engineers and technicians.

Requirements:

  • A great attitude to teamwork, collaboration, and communication.

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Geology, or a closely related field.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in consulting, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ground investigation, geotechnical analysis, and design of foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures.
  • Awareness and some growing experience in geotechnical software.
