Geotechnical Specialist

Seeking an experienced and technically skilled Geotechnical Specialist to deliver high-quality construction materials testing.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of geotechnical testing principles and be able to mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing a range of geotechnical and construction materials tests
  • Maintaining NATA accreditation and ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems
  • Participating in internal and external audits and proficiency programs
  • Leading and training junior technicians, fostering a culture of accuracy and integrity
  • Maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment
  • Liaising with field and project teams to ensure timely sample handling and reporting
  • Promoting a strong safety-first culture in all work practices

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in CMT or geotechnical testing as a NATA-authorised signatory
  • Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Sound knowledge of Australian standards and Queensland TMR test methods
  • Experience supervising teams or mentoring junior staff in a laboratory setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Driver's Licence, Construction Induction Card (White Card), and PDMG Licence desirable
