The Security Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital assets. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining security infrastructure, developing and enforcing security standards, policies, and patterns, and integrating security into infrastructure and development processes.
Key Accountabilities:- Security Infrastructure Management: Build and maintain security infrastructure (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, CASB, CSPM).
- Data Protection: Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital assets.
- Security Governance: Develop and enforce security standards, policies, and patterns.
- Integration and Optimisation: Integrate security into infrastructure and development processes, monitor and optimise security systems performance.
- Expert Guidance: Provide expert guidance on security matters across teams.
- Incident Response: Act as a technical escalation point during incidents.
- Security Assessments: Conduct assessments, audits, and vendor evaluations.
- Training and Documentation: Support training and maintain documentation.
- Emerging Technologies: Stay up to date with emerging security technologies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Security Awareness: Lead security awareness initiatives and training.
- DevSecOps: Apply DevSecOps principles to automate and enhance security processes.
- Security Expertise: Extensive experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of security infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies.
- Commercial Experience: Commercial experience in Security, Dev or Cloud Engineering.
- Risk Assessment: Proven track record in assessing security risks, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing and executing mitigation strategies.
- Cloud Services: Proven experience with public cloud (IaaS and PaaS) services, preferably with Microsoft Azure and AWS.
