About the Role

  • Provide expert underwriting services to our broker partners in NSW/ACT and nationally, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with our underwriting and distribution teams to develop and implement effective underwriting strategies.
  • Lead and coach team members to develop their skills and capabilities, driving high-performing teams and exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Manage complex accounts, including new business, policy maintenance, and renewals, to ensure delivery of quality service standards.
  • Identify and capitalize on profitable new business opportunities, maximizing conversion and retention rates.
  • Conduct market intelligence gathering and risk assessment, ensuring alignment with divisional objectives and portfolio balance.
  • Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with underwriting guidelines and standards.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and industry accreditations, where necessary.
  • Extensive experience in commercial underwriting, with a strong understanding of account and reinsurance structures.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and inform judgments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Deep understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative compliance requirements.
