About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food and Beverage Team Leader to join our team at JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa. As a key member of our Events Operations team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the day-to-day operations of our Events Outlet, ensuring smooth and successful operations with the highest level of customer service and a favorable projection of the Hotel's superior image.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.
  • Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings
  • Answer questions on menu selections.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recook orders, and product availability.
  • Communicate with guests and other employees and ensure staff is working together as a team to ensure optimum service.
  • Exchange information with other employees using electronic devices (e.g., pagers and two-way radios, email).
  • Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching employees; and serve as a role model.
  • Support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Serve as a departmental role model or mentor by working alongside employees to perform technical or functional job duties.
  • Listen to hourly employees' suggestions for improving how work is done and how guests are served, gaining management support as needed to act upon suggestions.
  • Collaborate with management to formally recognize hourly employees' performance contributions.
  • Assist management in establishing and communicating goals, performance expectations, timetables and deadlines for shift or departmental operations to hourly employees and ensure that they are understood.
Requirements
  • Proven ability and experience in motivate, mentor and manage a small team.
  • Specialized knowledge of beverage and beverage procedures, as well as methods used in the management of an F&B outlet, and the production and control thereof.
  • Professional experience of 2 years running an exclusive food and beverage outlet, and experience in implementing procedures and training staff.
