Business Development Manager

This role plays a pivotal part in driving business growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • GROW
    • Impart operational excellence, food safety, and general business knowledge to enable consistently great guest experiences.
    • Evaluate restaurants using the Business Coaching Tool, encouraging franchisees to conduct self-analysis and develop corrective action plans.
    • Review sales performance and P&L data, providing direction for improvement and investigating red flags.
    • Support all sales channels, including in-store, group ordering, home delivery, and Click&Collect.
    • Conduct business reviews to identify areas of opportunity, educate franchisees on self-analysis, and create & execute effective LAM and team training plans.
  • RELATIONSHIPS
    • Develop effective working relationships with franchisees, colleagues, and HQ staff.
    • Coach and support franchisees to achieve agreed goals.
    • Influence franchisees to coach their managers and staff to achieve SMART goals, by delivering a great guest experience and following operating and brand procedures.
    • Encourage franchisees to promote their business within the local community and build relationships through regular visits, communication, and participation in franchise meetings and events.
  • NEW STORES / REMODELS / RELOCATIONS / TRANSFERS
    • Provide direction and coaching to franchisees regarding Openings due to New Stores / Remodels / Relocates.
    • Assist with the opening process, complete an opening evaluation, and take photographs.
    • Recommend new sites and/or relocation opportunities and assist with remodel processes.
    • Ensure successful franchisees become MUOs, graded according to the SMO MUO grading process, and plan for eventual retirement.
  • SSELF-DEVELOPMENT
    • Complete designated training programs to develop skills.
    • Participate in all scheduled training classes, including online training, and travel to training sessions and SMO team meetings.
    • Understand new programs and their intended benefits to effectively influence franchisees.
Requirements:
  • Proven ability to influence franchisees in adopting Subway tools and systems.
  • Guest-first approach, with a proven ability to achieve annual KPIs such as sales and profit growth, restaurant excellence (REV), leasing, and development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to analyse a restaurant P&L and provide effective feedback.
  • A team player, capable of taking a hands-on approach during restaurant visits or developing the required knowledge quickly.
  • Effectively work in an autonomous environment, maintain professionalism with all stakeholders, and adapt to different personalities and situations while maintaining personal integrity.
  • Highly self-motivated leader with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor degree in Communications, Business, and Commerce, or similar.
  • Min 5yrs QSR leadership experience, with 2yrs above restaurant leadership experience highly regarded.
