About the role
As an Employment Lawyer, you will be responsible for advising clients on compliance with local laws and regulations. You will instruct and liaise with correspondent law firms across the region and act for and advise global, multinational, and local clients on a range of issues, including start-up employment infrastructure, corporate governance, and senior executive incentive schemes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Advising clients on large-scale restructuring exercises, including employee communications and drafting documents;
- Advising clients on structuring issues;
- Advising on workforce conduct issues and other internal issues, including carrying out fact-finding and internal investigations on behalf of clients and implementing recommendations;
- Providing advice and support to clients on a full range of employment issues, including recruitment and sponsorship procedures, remuneration and benefits packages, grievance and disciplinary procedures, and issues arising on the termination of employment;
- Drafting and amending employment contracts, employee handbooks, policies, and procedures, and other employment-related documentation;
- Defending clients on large-scale and complex employment disputes;
- Advising clients on settlement of disputes and drafting settlement agreements.
About you
We are looking for a Senior Associate-level lawyer who is Australian or dual-qualified with over 6 years' post-qualification experience to join our Corporate practice reporting directly to the Australian Managing Partner Rebecca Kelly.
The ideal applicant will have worked extensively on employment-related matters, with Australia-wide experience being an advantage. They should also have experience of working at a large-scale international or regional top-tier law firm and demonstrate an ability to interact confidently with clients and develop business proactively.
