Health Safety Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Safety Specialist to join our team in Kemps Creek. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our team members, visitors, contractors, and customers.

The Health Safety Specialist will lead and manage the overall safety performance for the site. This includes implementing safety systems, conducting audits, engaging with stakeholders, completing investigations, supporting the health and safety committee, providing safety coaching and support to contractors, managing emergency situations, and driving continual improvement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain safety systems and procedures
  • Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Investigate incidents and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Support the health and safety committee in promoting a safe working environment
  • Provide safety coaching and training to contractors and employees
  • Manage emergency situations and respond to incidents
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience working in a senior safety leadership role
  • Strong background working in an operational FMCG distribution Centre, Manufacturing or Automated Environment
  • Proven record of successfully implementing strategic plans
  • Proven record of driving and supporting change within teams
  • Proven record of providing technical expertise and coaching all various operational levels
  • Experience in leading and supporting investigations
  • Relevant degree (Safety or Legal Related Discipline)
