Operate and Maintain Fixed Plant

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead maintenance operations at our quarry. This role is critical in maintaining the reliability and performance of our fixed plant while driving a strong preventative maintenance culture.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Championing the implementation of a preventative maintenance culture that focuses on asset longevity and reliability.
  • Ensuring all fixed plant and equipment are operating safely and well within statutory requirements.
  • Leading and overseeing asset management plans, including rebuilds, major inspections, and lifecycle strategies.
  • Managing consumables, with a focus on optimising screen media usage and minimizing unnecessary costs or waste.
  • Ensuring critical components and spares are managed effectively to minimise plant downtime.
  • Monitoring and actioning findings from gearbox condition monitoring, with a strong focus on timely resolution.
  • Conducting fixed plant health checks using best practice methodologies, ensuring proactive maintenance and compliance.
  • Managing contractor performance, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with service expectations.
  • Tracking and controlling repairs & maintenance costs, ensuring conformance with budget targets.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring scheduled maintenance procedures are followed.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance planning, plant performance, and safety.
  • Identifying and delivering on improvement opportunities related to plant performance, maintenance practices, and commissioning of new equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant trade qualification (e.g., Fitter, Mechanic, Boilermaker).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a fixed plant maintenance environment (quarry, mining, or heavy industry preferred).
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Working knowledge of SAP CMMS or similar systems.
  • A strong understanding of safety systems, risk management, and Zero Harm principles.
  • Working at Heights, EWP licence, and manual driver's licence.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a passion for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Strong team leadership, planning, and interpersonal skills to engage with both internal teams and external contractors.
