Our business includes high security military bases, major rail transport infrastructure projects, and landmark buildings at transport interfaces.
The Victoria Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, traffic management technology, and Melbourne's first dedicated busway. This project will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne's east.
Laing O'Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis, and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades, and noise protection to meet Victoria's toughest traffic noise standards.
About the Opportunity
This Quality Assurance Engineer role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists, and work packs to ensure quality requirements are captured.
- Verify subcontractor/supplier documents conform to project specification/standard requirements.
- Monitor Corrective Actions and Non-conformance Registers to ensure timely close out and measure effectiveness of preventive actions.
- Maintain up-to-date registers of calibration certificates and ensure inspection, measuring, and test equipment is within calibration or removed from use.
- Provide data for the monthly Quality Reports by due date.
- Observe safe systems of work relevant to your work area and report potential hazards or near misses.
About You
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or Construction Management with Chartered Professional Engineer status or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' related technical experience within a project delivery environment.
- Technical knowledge to interpret drawings, specifications, and quality records.
- Previous experience with Project Document Management Systems.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
