Employment Specialist Lead

A critical role awaits an experienced Employment Specialist to lead and support a team of professionals in delivering a comprehensive employment program. The successful candidate will be instrumental in guiding young people experiencing mental health challenges towards meaningful employment or education opportunities.

This pivotal position requires operational supervision, ensuring high-quality client-centred care and recovery-oriented practices are consistently delivered.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining program fidelity through effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Coordinating fidelity reviews with IPS Works to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Managing Annual Work Plans in partnership with the Department of Social Services to drive results.

Skillset and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in supervising or mentoring team members with a strengths-based approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of the employment services sector, Centrelink, and other relevant State and Federal initiatives.
  • Familiarity with issues impacting young people's access to employment and educational opportunities.
  • Established connections with employers or networks related to youth employment.
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and goal-setting skills.

Requirements

  • Driver's Licence.
  • Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC).
  • Current or willing to obtain a National Police Clearance.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft software and databases.
  • An appropriate qualification in a relevant field.
