At QinetiQ, we're seeking a highly skilled Australian Defence Capability Acquisition Specialist to join our Growth team in Australia. This critical strategic position will play a key role in developing new business opportunities associated with the development of a sovereign Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance design and manufacturing capability.

As an Australian Defence Capability Acquisition Specialist, you'll be responsible for exercising high autonomy and independence, leading cross-functional teams, including technical teams from other Business Units in Australia and the UK. You'll take independent charge of developing and executing a comprehensive GWEO strategy aligned with Group and Sector strategies, showcasing deep understanding of efforts across the GWEO domain to expand our presence and capture market share within the GWEO segment, specifically targeting domestic GWEO T&E requirements.

You'll exercise excellent management skills, leadership, and soft-power attributes to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities aligning with company objectives, emphasising a robust pipeline of GWEO-related projects. Your expertise and experience within the Defence domains, commensurate with a former ADF Officer or Defence industry member, will shape the future of the services.

Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Australian Defence Organisation, other mechanisms of Government, and other GWEO entities. Proactively manage and nurture existing client relationships, focusing on client satisfaction, retention, and protection of our current business footprint. Explore avenues for growth within these accounts, continuously monitoring industry trends, market dynamics, competitor activities, and Government policies affecting the GWEO and Defence sectors.

Take the lead in preparing and submitting proposals, bids, and tenders, overseeing the entire process, including large matrixed cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams from initiation to closure. Deliver against the Shipley process, leveraging your strong leadership skills in accordance with company frameworks and best practices.
