About the Role

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Chief Costing Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the Capability Costing Branch, you will be responsible for developing life cycle cost estimates and providing technical cost advice to project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cost models and provide recommendations to improve their accuracy;
  • Analyse and review cost estimates to ensure they comply with Defence standards and policies;
  • Provide expert advice on cost estimation methods and tools;
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to identify and mitigate cost risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cost estimation, cost assurance, or a related field;
  • Strong knowledge of Defence costing standards and policies;
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
