Role Overview

The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and managing complex electronics-electrical engineering work within the integrated workforce.

This role involves investigating electrical/electronics and engineering concepts, developing specifications, and providing technical advice on complex issues. The Electronics Engineer will also be accountable for identifying, anticipating, and responding to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.

About the Team

The Cargo Helicopter and Uncrewed Surveillance Program Office (CHUSPO) delivers through-life support for the CH-47F Chinook and Army Aviation System Branch supported fleet of Uncrewed Aerial Systems. As an Electronics Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team working closely with industry partners to understand the latest developments in UAS technology and applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate electrical/electronics and engineering concepts to identify issues and provide recommendations
  • Develop and implement solutions to address complex engineering problems
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on electronics-electrical engineering matters
  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify and respond to their needs and expectations
  • Contribute to ongoing self-improvement and professional development within the team

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in electronics-electrical engineering with a focus on Uncrewed Aerial Systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
