We are seeking a skilled Medical Specialist to provide leadership to our team and contribute to delivering high-quality mental health services to children and young people aged 0-17 years who are experiencing acute mental distress.
- As a key member of the senior team, you will work closely with the Clinical Lead to build partnerships and ensure seamless provision of care.
- You will be actively involved in ongoing evaluation and development of our model of care, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary Child Youth and Family Mental Health stream.
The successful applicant will expand care to the Blue Mountains and Lithgow region, participating in a District-wide CYF-MH Consultant after-hours roster.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide medical leadership to the senior team and work closely with the Clinical Lead to build partnerships and ensure seamless provision of care.
- Be actively involved in ongoing evaluation and development of the model of care, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary Child Youth and Family Mental Health stream.
- Expand care to the Blue Mountains and Lithgow region, participating in a District-wide CYF-MH Consultant after-hours roster.
- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).
- Demonstrated expertise in providing effective, high-quality mental health services in a psychiatry setting, with commitment to person-centered, recovery-oriented, family-inclusive, trauma-informed, and need-adapted principles of care.
- Able to support and work in collaborative interprofessional contexts, including lived-experience professionals, with sound knowledge of psychiatry encompassing biological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual domains.
The successful applicant will participate in a District-wide CYF-MH Consultant after-hours roster and may also include work in other parts of the Mental Health Service.
