Job Overview:

A senior construction professional is sought to lead a team in delivering projects on time, within budget, and with the highest safety standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor project progress to ensure timely delivery of work sections or packages.
  • Supervise a team to deliver project outcomes, providing guidance and mentorship to team members as needed.
  • Identify and assist with acquiring resources, including labor hire, supplies, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to develop and implement process improvements that add value to operations.
  • Conduct daily safety checks and maintain worksites consistent with safety and health standards.
  • Attend investigations into accidents and incidents within area of responsibility.
  • Participate in site meetings, including toolboxes, pre-starts, inductions, and other health and safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience in formwork, reinforcing, and concrete construction supervisory, preferably with a carpentry or formwork trade background in the construction industry.
  • Additional experience in formwork systems, bridge construction, incremental launch bridges, and construction within and over water.
  • Ability to manage self-performing crews exceeding 15 people and manage plant and equipment such as cranes, telehandlers, concrete pumps, trucks, small earthworks plant, and similar.
  • Effective interface management with other subcontractors and project teams, including civils teams.
  • Experience in managing critical risks and implementing controls, including continual improvement of tasks such as heavy lifting and temporary works designs.
  • Relevant trade background or qualifications, such as carpentry or formwork.
  • Competence in planning projects and recording progress.
  • Ability to drive production and meet targets safely.
  • Strong communication skills for building strong relationships with project stakeholders at all levels.
  • Flexibility with work hours to accommodate early morning preparation works, such as concrete pours.
