Job Title: Medical Workforce Support Officer


The Medical Workforce Support Unit (MWSU) provides strategic advice and operational assistance to the Executive Director of Medical Services (EDMS) and Directors of Medical Services (DMSs) in relation to medical officer employment for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).


Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing and Engagement of Locum Medical Officers: Provide high-quality administrative support and coordination for sourcing and engaging locum medical officers across CQHHS.
  • Recruitment, Engagement, and Retention of Doctors in Training: Assist with recruitment, engagement, and retention of doctors in training across CQHHS.
  • Team-Based Environment: Contribute to a team-based environment to deliver high-quality medical workforce support services to CQHHS.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A high level of proficiency in reception and administrative skills, including keyboard and Microsoft Office skills appropriate to the position.
  • Knowledge or an ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of databases used within the Medical Workforce and medical administration area.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to perform duties on a day-to-day basis in the absence of decision-makers.
  • High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with officers at all levels within a large organisation, the general public, and external agencies with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Ability to work autonomously, establish work priorities, meet deadlines, and be an effective team member to provide a strong customer-focused service.
  • Knowledge of or ability to acquire knowledge of Queensland Health Recruitment Policy, Medical Officer terms and conditions, corporate policy, and legislative requirements.
