We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agricultural Science Research Manager to join our team at PepsiCo. As a key member of our Ag Science team, you will be responsible for leading research projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and growth in the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Lead research projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Research and Development: Design and execute field research projects, including agronomy, Ag-Technology, and sustainable agriculture.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including potato breeders, to develop and select varieties, recommend practices, and technologies for sustainable crop high performance.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Interpret and report experimental results, findings, and make recommendations based on observations, data analysis, and consultation with other subject matter experts.
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate contracts with external research collaborators, growers, universities, and hold them to account against agreed deliverables to ensure project timelines are met.
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including growers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Financial Management: Account for budget estimates and tracking of spend against all projects under your control.
- Education: PhD in Agriculture/Plant Physiology/Crop Science or equivalent.
- Experience: ~5 years' experience in designing and executing field research projects with agronomy, Ag-Technology, and/or sustainable agriculture.
- Skills: Specialized knowledge of variety testing, statistical experimental design, field plot technique, statistical data analysis and interpretation, plus reporting.
- Communication: Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to other scientists and non-technical business partners.
- Travel: Ability to perform day travel ~20-30% of the time domestically.
