Graduate Town Planning Opportunity

We are offering a graduate opportunity in town planning for eligible candidates completing their Bachelor's Degree in Town Planning. The cadet will be mentored by experienced employees in our Statutory Planning team.

  • You will receive a salary while studying your degree, and your university fees will be paid by Council for the duration of the cadetship.
  • Successful completion of training and tertiary studies is required to meet the requirements of the Cadetship.
  • Gain hands-on experience across all facets of statutory, development assessment, compliance, and policy.

Your Responsibilities

  • Working across all facets of statutory planning, including duty enquires, development assessment, compliance, and policy.
  • A 35 hour week with an RDO every 4 weeks.
  • A Health & Wellbeing program.
  • Professional Learning and Development opportunities.
About You
  • Currently enrolled in or studying in your penultimate or final year a Bachelor of Planning (or equivalent) at a registered training organisation.
  • General computer literacy including basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and email and internet programs.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply planning theory to real-world situations.
  • Strong organisational skills and time management skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Highly motivated and willingness to learn.
