We are seeking an experienced Medical Practitioner to join our team as Director of Palliative Care at The Wesley Hospital.
About the RoleThe Wesley Hospital Palliative Care Unit is a 17-bed unit that supports patients with active progressive and terminal diseases. As Director of Palliative Care, you will work collaboratively with the hospital leadership team and your team to support Visiting Medical Practitioners and staff in recognizing and responding to acute deterioration in the hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Palliative Care Unit and develop strategies to enhance the provision of high-quality care to patients.
- Collaborate with the hospital leadership team to support the development of palliative care services.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the Palliative Care team.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective care.
- Work with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Registration as a Specialist in Palliative Care Medicine.
- Current Registration as a Medical Practitioner in QLD with AHPRA.
- Proven background in teaching and training.
- Proven ability to translate research to practice.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of management principles.
