Specialised Learning Program Teacher

The Department of Education, Western Australia seeks a dedicated and highly competent teacher to join our Specialised Autism Learning Program (SALP) team. This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2024.

Job Description
The SALP teacher will deliver engaging and contextually relevant teaching programs designed to support the social-emotional learning of students within the SALP. The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing individual learning programs and providing support to teachers across the College to assist SALP students in engaging successfully within their timetabled classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based pedagogy for improving student outcomes relevant to the WA curriculum
- Monitor, review, and report on the performance of students by creating individualised learning plans and maintaining rigorous programming, data collection, and reporting systems
- Efficiently deploy resources and manage a team of education assistants to ensure program fidelity
- Demonstrate high-level interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, parents, students, and the school community
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Apply evidence-based practices that support students with disability to engage successfully within an integrated and inclusive College environment
- Commitment to participating in relevant training in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), positive behaviour support, and evidenced-based teaching practices
- Hold an eligible teaching qualification and be registered or eligible for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia

Salary: $73,419 - $101,947 per annum (classified as TCH5 $73,419 - $83,490 per annum + salary package $18,457 per annum)
